CFD & thermal simulation for e-drive engineers

See where the oil goes, and how hot it gets. Before you build the hardware.

Particle-based CFD and multiscale thermal analysis for powertrain and e-drive CAE engineers, built for lubrication, churning losses and cooling, validated against experiment, and light enough to run on a single workstation.

What we actually do

Simulation software, built and proven on our own engineering projects

We don’t just ship solvers. Every tool we sell is one we have built, tested and refined delivering real e-drivetrain projects, from oil flow and lubrication to thermal management.

Who it's for

Powertrain and e-drive CAE teams

Engineers designing electric drive units, gearboxes and cooling systems who need to predict lubrication, churning losses and component temperatures early.

In plain terms

Particle-based CFD

Instead of meshing the fluid, we simulate it as millions of particles that naturally follow splashing oil, sloshing fuel and wading water, the messy free-surface physics that mesh solvers struggle with.

Why it's different

Validated and light on hardware

Results checked against experiment, with superior stability and far lower resource needs. Industrial cases run overnight on a single workstation, not a cluster.

Why shonDynamics

Engineered for the problems other solvers give up on

~12h

Industrial cases overnight

A full industrial gearbox lubrication run completes in about 12 hours on a single modern GPU workstation.

GPU

Lower resource footprint

Superior computational stability and an intuitive workflow at a fraction of the hardware other particle solvers demand.

In their words

“shonDy particle-based CFD simulation software has been instrumental in our oil flow simulations and churning loss analysis, enabling us to optimize oil-cooling system designs for electric drives. Compared to other particle-based CFD tools, shonDy offers superior computational stability, a more intuitive workflow, and significantly lower resource requirements. It has proven to streamline our design processes and shorten time-to-market.”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Our products combine accuracy, efficiency, and ease of use. Each workflow is designed to be streamlined, so simulations can be set up quickly without compromising quality. We also work closely with customers and integrate specific needs into our products whenever possible.

Our software is especially valuable in industries where fluid dynamics, lubrication, and particle-based simulations are critical, such as automotive, aerospace, energy, mechanical engineering, and research. Currently, most of our customer base comes from the automotive sector.

All products are available for Windows and Linux.

This varies by product. For example, with shonDy we ensured:

  • A smooth workflow with a gentle learning curve.
  • A step-by-step user manual for the first case setup.
  • A built-in library of example cases in shonDy and shonTA, so new users can start from working setups.

Runtime depends on the use case and workstation. As an orientation: an industrial gearbox lubrication case takes about 12 hours on a state-of-the-art workstation (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, 62 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X).

Yes. Each product can be purchased individually. At the same time, they are designed to interact seamlessly. For example, shonMesh, shonDy, and shonTA can be combined into a single workflow.

Product interaction

We provide flexible models, depending on customer needs:

  • Perpetual license: Includes the current version and one year of updates. The license remains valid afterwards, but without further updates.
  • Time-limited license: Valid for a specific period, during which all updates are included.

After requesting a trial, one of our colleagues will confirm details such as:

  • Full name
  • Company or institution
  • Job title
  • Intended application
  • Operating system
  • Preferred license type (online or offline)

Once confirmed:

  • Online license: You receive a license key and can start right away.
  • Offline license: You install the product, generate an activation code, and we send you a file for offline use.

We also provide a short remote session to introduce the key features and guide you through your first steps. Our support team is available throughout the trial.

The standard trial lasts three weeks, but extensions can be arranged if needed.

Yes. Every purchase includes comprehensive training, tailored to your needs. Together with you, we define the scope and format, either online or on-site.
